Snow Day Question & Answers

Hi Mom's and Dad's, here are some question and answers regarding the snow days we've had here at MCS & the EEC:

1). Are we charged for snow days?
As stated in the policy book, if the school is closed due to bad weather,
the school will not charge families for the day/s.
2). How do I know what to pay?
For example, if your child attends 5 days, and there are 2 snow days, then you would look at
the rate sheet, and pay the 3 day rate instead. Another example, if your child attends 3
days and a snow day falls on 1 of them, then you would look on the rate sheet and pay the 2
day fee. Please see me if you have additional questions.
3). Can my child come on another day, that isn't their normal scheduled day?
That answer is no, unless you add a day. You may call the EEC office and ask to see if there
is space available in the child's class, to see if we can "add on".
4). Can I switch days (if a snow day falls on Monday, Tuesday) and my child attends M,W? Can
I just bring my child in Wednesday and Thursday? No, there is no switching of days. Again,
you can add, but you must speak to me, and see if there is space in the class first before
bringing your child/ren in.
5). How do I find out if school is closed due to snow or inclement weather?
By 5:30am, the school Administrator will put out an automated phone message, that goes
out to all families that have signed up to be contacted. Please know that Channel 2 will post
it as "Macomb Christian". You can also log onto the main school website
at www.macombchristianschools.org and it will be posted. You can also call the main school
line at (586) 751-8980. There will be an automated message stating the school is closed.
5). If MCS school is closed, is there childcare? No, the childcare center is closed as well.

School Closings

On Wednesday, November 24th, preschool through 12th grade will be closed. Childcare will be available by signing up in the EEC office by Monday, November 22nd. Tuition will be adjusted accordingly and due by 6:00 p.m. November 24th.

We will be closed Thursday, November 25th and Friday, November 26th to spend Thanksgiving with our families and give thanks for all that the Lord has given us. We will reopen on Monday, November 29th for our normal schedule.

Thanksgiving Feast

Our Annual Thanksgiving Feast is quickly approaching. It will take place on Thursday, November 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the MCS Gym. Please remember to let us know how many guests will be attending for your child. We are also asking for a $5 donation to cover the cost of the spaghetti dinner that we will be providing. There will be a short program before the meal. Make sure to bring your cameras, you won't want to miss it!
